Parlor & Free People’s Night Out

Parlor & Free People 1

Parlor and Free People teamed up this year in New York City for the Free People Holiday Night’s celebration at the Rockefeller Plaza, hosted by Victoria’s Secret Angel, Martha Hunt. It was a beautiful evening showcasing the season’s hottest looks. The Parlor Beauty Squad provided the “Hair Bar” where we taught guests how to create gorgeous styles of their own.

Every guest was dressed for the occasion, donning dresses from the Free People Holiday Night’s collection. Among the invitees was esteemed fashion maven and New York socialite, Lauren Ezersky, who sat down with our Beauty Squad and kicked off the evening!

Baked by Melissa provided the sparkling cupcakes and Nourish filled our stomachs with a savory spread, including their Bright Beet Feta Dip.

Beyond the perfect ambiance of the evening, we focused on the look of the season, which is intricate and decorated, yet free and Bohemian. Although these styles may seem impossible to achieve on your own, our stylists show you that it can be quick and simple!

French braids, ornamented with Aeon Hair Rings by Regal Rose (online only give a simple look a real edge. Here, Lauren Ezersky is being shown how to cornrow her hair and fasten the rings to her braid.

In less than 5 minutes, hair gets a high fashion style makeover. And the finished result… Classic with an edge!

If you can’t manage pulling off a French braid (I know my fingers can’t figure it out!) then try a fishtail braid, loosely pulled apart and adorned with Hair Charmsies (available online only) to create a beautiful boho look like the picture below.

Hair Charmsies are small appliqués that are fastened to the hair using a flat iron. The process takes less than a minute, yet the sparkles last all night. They aren’t just for braids, either. Below are some of the different ways in which they can be worn.

Complex braid styles can sometimes be the easiest! Check out these styled tresses, and learn how to create the look at home.
For the hairstyle in the photo below, simply part your hair into two braids, evenly split from front to back. Crisscross the two braids behind your head in order to create the illusion of a crown, and secure with bobby pins. Give your look that extra touch of chic with Regal Rose Hair Rings.

Another look to try is this textured braid. First, braid 5 medium sized sections from the crown of your head, and then pull them back into a singular fishtail braid to create a unique chignon style.

See how simple it is to get a look that’s fresh out of a Free People photoshoot? We had so much fun styling hair and getting to play with Charmsies and Hair Rings. Check out the photo gallery to see more images from the evening!
